Jakarta, PAB-Online
The Jakarta administration has warned residents living along certain
river banks in the city to be alert about the level of water in
Katulampa water gate in Bogor, West Java, which reached 250 centimeters
at 6 a.m. on Friday.
It was classified as the first warning level.
"The water will reach Jakarta around 3 a.m. on Saturday," Jakarta city spokesman Cucu Ahmad Kurnia said.
He said according to the flood post of the city's Public Works Agency, areas that would be affected by the possible flood were areas in Rawajati, Kalibata, Pengadegan, Kebon Baru and Bidaracina in South Jakarta and Kampung Melayu, Bukit Duri and Jati Pinggir in East Jakarta.
"Residents who live in those areas should prepare themselves to move to safer places," Cucu said. (JP/IP)
